Panzer IV F2-G in 1/72

I Finally finished something. This was a Dragon kit with more tiny detail parts and photo etch than I normally want to deal with. Overall it is a good kit if you have 300 power lenses and micro tweezers.

I used a variety of stowage add ons from Preiser figures and other resin accessories. I used wire for the tie down rope.

I scratch built a rack on the turret for spare water or fuel cans.

I also wrapped my own tow cable from #14 ga SIS control wiring.

RSO Short Walk Around

A friend of mine named Bruce Burden, from Austin, Texas, shot these pictures a long time ago. I've held onto them for years. I think this RSO was in a Canadian Museum but I might be mistaken. Thanks Bruce!!

PRE-WWII  M2A3

In the early days of US armor almost anything was possible and was tried. Here is my rendition of the M2A3. Built using scratch built turrets and engine air louvers, conversion parts from resin companies and a base kit from Academy, I was able to piece together a convincing "Mae West". The markings are from the pre-WWII Louisiana War Games. Thanks to Keith M. and Mike W. for contributions of reference materials and Kevin G. for his US armor expertise.

This is the old 120mm kit of the CMK 10.5cm light field gun. I wanted it to looked abandoned and forgotten.

Hiding in the Trees

A single vehicle with a few figures can make a good story. This is the old Italeri RSO kit converted to a 7.5 cm A/T gun platform. Of course now there's a Dragon kit (I think) of this. The figures were given to me in St. Louis and were to be a release from Warriors. Not sure if they ever came out. I enjoyed this build. I love doing winter scenes, I guess because I'm from Texas!!

Easy Ammo Crates

Using Evergreen Styrene and a razor saw you can make as many ammo crates as you want. Use a solid piece of the correct thickness and cover it with a piece of  twenty thou (.020) plastic. Use the razor saw to make wavy scratches to replicate wood grain in the plastic. Add a few fittings and your done. It's easy and you won't have to wait for the Brand X you ordered to come to your mailbox.
