Tamiya's Old SdKfz. 251/9 Ausf. D Stummel

I added Model Kasten tracks, Verlinden engine compartment, scratch built side bins and much in the engine compartment. The bushes are dried flowers and the herb Marjorum. The branches were simply swirled in diluted white glue and placed inverted in a container filled with Marjurom. The green branches are other dried flowers that look similar to small evergreen branches. The vehicle was painted with Tamiya acrylic paint and shot through an old Badger 200 single action air brush. Filter coats using Humbrol and artists oils were added in varying thicknesses. Final application of matt finish spare varnish thinned with mineral spirits was palced over the stock Tamiya markings. Bits and pieces were added to detail out the vehicle. I was very fortunate to win a 1st place at the IPMS Nationals in Omaha with this piece.

Rest Stop

Simple to make and quick to paint, it has been one of my most talked about vignettes. Some have asked if it was a statement on the politics of the day, you decide.......

German SdKfz. 251-17 Half Track Conversion

This conversion uses a Dragon kit of the 251 half track and a resin set from my buddies in the Ukraine, Lead Models, and a little scratch building. It was fun and made an interesting variation on the 251 theme.
